Your MacToPic Plusｪ disk has several sample programs written in Pickｨ BASIC. You can use these programs to see how the Special Host -To-Mac Commands can display pictures or movies, control data transfers and more. The sample programs are located in the "Plus sample programs" folder. You can send them to your Pickｨ machine, compile and run them to see how they work.
Sending a Sample program to Your Host computer.
1. At TCL enter: ED BP PROGRAMNAME to create a new program.
2. Enter I for insert mode.
3. select Mac-To-Host Transfer from the File Menu.
4. Select ProgramName from the list of files.
The program will be sent to your host computer.
5. Enter FI to file it.
6. Type BASIC BP PROGRAMNAME to compile it.
7. Type RUN BP PROGRAMNAME to run the program.
NOTE: ProgramName is the name of the sample program you are sending to the host computer.
Sample Programs
HOST-TO-MAC.PROGRAM
Opens the data transfer window and inserts the command to start the transfer. The user must hit the tab key to accept the command.
CAPTURE.FILE-FORCED PROGRAM
Turns the capture file mode on and supplies the Macintosh file name. Records data into the new capture file. Turns capture off and waits for 'Capture Off' acknowledgment from MacToPic Plus. Then does the same thing a second time with a different file name. (you could create and send as many files as you wish without operator intervention.)
The file name supplied overwrites any existing file with the same name on the Mac.
WARNING there is no operator intervention in the forced mode so be careful how you name your file. This program uses TEST and TEST2 as file names.
CAPTURE.FILE-INTERVENE PROGRAM
Turns file capture mode on and supplies the Mac file name. Checks to see if operator Canceled. Records data into the new capture file (if not canceled). Turns capture off and waits for 'Capture Off' acknowledgment from MacToPic Plus. Then does the same thing a second time with a different file name. (you could create and send as many files as you wish). The file name supplied can be changed by the operator. The operator also has the option of selectively canceling or renaming any file during the transfer.
CLIPBOARD.PROGRAM
Turn clipboard recording on, record sample data into clipboard, turn clipboard recording off.
MAKECAPTURE.PROGRAM
Gets current capture file name and records some data into the current capture file.
Lets operator make a new capture file and records data into the new capture file.
MISC-FUNCTIONS.PROGRAM
Requests MacToPic ID.
Turns caps lock on and off.
Clears message and function key displays.
Clears entire screen.
SELECTFILE.PROGRAM
Lets the operator select an existing capture file for appending data to.
Records data into the selected file.
Detects operator cancellation.
MAC-TO-HOST PROGRAM
Receives data from the Mac into the Host computer and stores the data in a file called HOLD.
Each new line received from the Mac becomes a new item in the HOLD file.
DISPLAY PICT PROGRAM
Displays a color picture on the Mac screen under host control. The host computer sends the picture name and positioning coordinates to the Mac to display the picture. Pictures must be in PICT format and can reside anywhere on the Mac or Mac Network.
DISPLAY MOVIE PROGRAM
Displays a color movie on the Mac screen under host control. The host computer sends the movie name and positioning coordinates to the Mac to display the movie. Movies must be in QuickTime format and can reside anywhere on the Mac or Mac Network.
